Program Description: Youth Classes
Art Start is designed specifically for the beginning artist. Four and five year olds will receive a foundation in art by using a wide variety of media with some attention to the use and care of tools. We will learn to use color, shape, texture and line as the basic elements of art making. Art Start activities also include the use of clay and other materials to produce three-dimensional works of art. Students will illustrate a book about art as a major project. Art Start classes will meet for one hour, once a week.
- AS Registration: $25 non-refundable per School Year
- AS Materials: $100 (one time)
- AS Tuition (monthly): $70 due on first class day of each month.
Advanced Art Start is specifically planned and tailored for kindergartners who have previously attended Art Start. (other kindergartners can also enroll) This class fills the need for students ready for in-depth experimentation with art media but are not quite ready to dive into art history. Advanced Art Start classes will meet for one hour & 30 minutes, once a week. (Not available at this time)
- AAS Registration: $25 non-refundable per School Year
- AAS Materials: $125 (one time)
- AAS Tuition (monthly): $85 due on first class day of each month.
Create and Appreciate is a program appropriate for first graders and above. The curriculum introduces children to famous artists and includes activities for students to experience various art media. Students will work two and three dimensionally. Each student will receive a sketchbook at the beginning of the year and most class times will include an exercise to strengthen drawing skills. Create and Appreciate classes will meet for one hour & 30 minutes, once a week.
- C&A Registration: $25 non-refundable per School Year
- C&A Materials: $125 (one time)
- C&A Tuition (monthly): $85 due on first class day of each month.
